MMXVIII started on Monday, as it should.

January

We're in Spain. Fabrice had his dental surgery operation (which had been delayed for over a year as there was no good time slot to do it). This made him look like the Duquesa of Alba for a week or so.

• 4: I won my first tournament on lichess in the U1700 Blitz Arena, following a streak of terrible losses allowing me to compete in such low-rated competition.
• 5-6: We visit Baeza and Ubeda.

• 13: It snowed in Spain (also in Sahara [1]). Not uncommon, but still a novelty for Julia.

• 17: My twitter account passes the 3 digits figure. 100th follower is @fmcatuam. Would they be, maybe, missing me?
