Requiem for a Dream. That's how a routine blood-test turns up in the UK. It's staggering how incompetence seems to have infiltrated all the layers of society, making even the most trivial tasks out of reach. I wonder if the hardest possible Brexit is not our safest option :)

People still at the office/library or close enough to the city centre are kindly invited to join us @BohoWolves at 8h30 where Elena will perform some of her songs (all original tonight, as I understood) as part of their "open mic" live show. I hear they have nice coktails & beer.
I've learned today that somewhere on the noticeboard of a leading theorist of semiconductor optics lies this nice picture. What a privilege to meet such fantastic people that can transform one instant into a feeling of eternity.

For me who is a fan of Buzzati, what a shock to find this in one of Julia's drawings today.
Here's one from Dino. She didn't see this before, where would she? Such a simple idea. Such a dramatic effect. I remember wishing I was that creative when, a teenager, my eyes first met with this soul-tearing glaze. What a gasp to find it again in a 4yo's drawing.
I showed her the above this morning and asked her to comment and she says it's not the same at all, because Buzzati's drawing are just exact copies of normal eyes, while hers has different eyes.
Asking what differences she sees, she says that in her case the eyes are not the same (not the same drawing) and that they are not aligned, one is higher than the other. So she does not yet understand what's actually different from what makes it conceptually different.
It's funny because the eyes of Buzzatti aren't exact copies either. Maybe she sees more than I do. Or I'm seeing too much into it. How could it be different with so many eyeballs?

hard to say... who knows what's in the heart of people who resent your mere existence. I'd think it's an anti-foreigners' feeling; Elena who is more reasoned in all things thinks it was just a crazy angry person, not even worthy to mention.
