We enjoy walking in the countryside. We try to make it a discipline to regularly go and explore some area nearby where we live. Never mind how long you stay in a place, there seems to be never enough time to scratch but a little fraction of the map (which is, after all, two-dimensional, which you try to fill-in with lines).
On the period from 16 October (2011) to 4 August (2013), since we lived in Garching, we explored the Bavarian Alps (in Bavaria, south Germany).
On the period from 6 October (2013) to 18 June (2016), and back during the covid pandemic, our terrain of predilection for an in-depth exploration was the Sierra de Madrid (in Spain).
Since April (2017) onward, we are exploring the shires of Britain by hiking the British mountains and hills.
Occasional hiking trips that were not part of a sustained and continued effort are listed here:
Walking on Caer Caradoc, Shropshire, on 1 March (2020).
Trying to say on track on our way from El Yelmo to El Tolmo, on 1 May (2022).
