Getafe is a city south of Madrid, of modest general interest although it is an important archeological site. Its main highlight is the neighboring Cerro de los Ángeles, the center of the Iberian peninsula.
The city kept little of its antique charm with few buildings of great interest. However, it remains better in this respects than other sites surrounding Madrid. In particular, its cathedral makes it worth a visit (if you have seen everything else around). We visited it on our way back from the Cerro de los Ángeles on 24 August (2018).
