We enjoy walking in the countryside. We try to make it a discipline to regularly go and explore some area nearby where we live. Never mind how long you stay in a place, there seems to be never enough time to scratch but a little fraction of the map (which is, after all, two-dimensional, which you try to fill-in with lines).
On the period from 16 October (2011) to 4 August (2013), since we lived in Garching, we explored the Bavarian Alps (in Bavaria, south Germany).
On the period from 6 October (2013) to 18 June (2016), our terrain of predilection for an in-depth exploration was the Sierra de Madrid (in Spain).
Since April (2017) onward, we are exploring the shires of Britain!
