Several keys, comma-separated or as separate parameters, go in one pair of brackets: Refs. {{onlinecite|delvalle12a,laussy04a}} gives Refs. [[1],[2]]. That is what {{citer}} writes, choosing "Ref." or "Refs." for you; the grouping is done by Module:Citer.
