Linux
Linux is the main operating system that we use. We believe it is also the best by orders of magnitude.
I have been a registered user since at least Mon Jan 19 19:12:20 MET 1998 as documented by the internet [1]. I would have been using the system one way or another for about a couple of years at this point. The post by Linus on comp.os.minix was on 25 August (1991) and v°1.0 is dated 14 March (1994), so I have actually been following this unique achievement of humanity's highest and most noble endeavor, from almost its start.
We have used proto-distributions and debian at a fairly early stage with some period through Knoppix for its outstanding material support, until converging onto kubuntu.
Installing linux is (usually) easy.

- bib — everything $\mathrm{\LaTeX}$ related.
- books — our virtual library.
- pics — our collection of pictures (photos).
- publi — our manuscripts (future publications).
- comp — computer code, scripts, etc.
- conf — conferences.
- data — data dumps, archives.
- gps — everything geolocation-related.
- scrap — ongoing stuff, little projects (such as our calendars), etc.
