Quantum mechanics and reality. B. DeWitt in Physics Today 23:30 (1970).  What the paper says!? Screenshot 20240823 140541.png

Despite its enormous practical success, quantum theory is so contrary to intuition that, even after 45 years, the experts themselves still do not all agreewhat to make of it.

This is an important historical text as the one which started to popularize €Everett's many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics. The text is criticized (and defended by DeWitt) in Ref. [1].

It is not a great didactic introduction, however. The main point of value it makes is that:

The mathematical formalism of the quantum theory is capable of yielding its own interpretation.
