Did you know that there was such a view of Madrid?
This is the modern view equivalent from the Casa de Campo as that captured by van den Wyngaerde in the XVIth century. You see the castle and other (latter) iconic buildings floating over what we'd like to be the bay of a see, but is merely the lake which urban planning annoyed Pío Baroja in his old age.
