A moral conscience for our troubled times

We might ask ourselves how we would be reacting if Iraqi commandos landed at George W. Bush’s compound, assassinated him, and dumped his body in the Atlantic.

I have increasing respect and admiration for Noam Chomsky. A courageous defender of law and justice, of freedom in all its forms, I would go so far as to say, of civilization. He is setting a standard of morale and human values, and this on virtually every topic I have read or heard him express an opinion.

In the light of the recent events related to bin Laden's death, I highly recommend a short text he signs for Guernica magazine (also here).

It seems so easy to be rightful, to stand for what is right, when you see him do it so gracefully and persuasively.

I would conclude on his own conclusion:

There is much more to say, but even the most obvious and elementary facts should provide us with a good deal to think about.
