Águas de Lindóia

Águas de Lindóia is a Brazilian city in the state of Sao Paulo. It is a thermal water city, with locally famous mineral water springs, first discovered by a pair of Italian immigrants (the Tosi brothers).

Fp.laussy.jpg I am currently visiting this place at the occasion of the XXXV Encontro Nacional de Física da Matéria Condensada. I have one full day off the conference.

O que fazer em Águas de Lindóia

It's a small place cast in stunning surroundings. Unfortunately I don't have much option or freedom to wander farther than within the city. Here's a small list (in progress)

  • Thermal waters — Marie Curie came here for that.
  • Igreja Nossa Senhora das Graças.
  • Cristo — right in the middle of the city, with nice views. The Christ itself is rather miserable.
  • Praça Adhemar de Barros — Favourite of [1], but it is nothing special, only a park. The city is so tiny you will pass by anyway and the nice atmosphere doesn't make it a place to avoid. The red waters give it a special little touch.
