Wightwick Manor (pronounced "Wittick") is a Victorian-style manor in Wolverhampton from the local Mander family, with some inspiration from Oscar Wilde's 'The House Beautiful' lecture given in Wolverhampton in 1884 and, more generally, a specimen of the Arts and Crafts movement. It is currently under the care of the national trust.
It is a delightful place to visit, not only for its culturally unique value as an active manifestation of an interesting cultural movement, albeit a defeated one, but for the sweet home feeling so unique to British lifestyle which is enflated by its bourgeoisie... this is the kind of place to go to feel like in Du Maurier's Manderley.
