Luc Devroye
Devroye is a mathematician and computer analyst, working in particular on algorithmic analysis. He is of interest for us for what is possibly the best text on multivariate random sampling.[1] He is doubly of interest because he also turns out to be quite a fascinating character, as his webpage testifies (note the "'My institutional emails should not be used'", cf. the less forceful but surely similar in spirit "Please use my gmail address" plea):
