The ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict is reaching level of atrocities unseen, not only in the previous conflicts of this much troubled region of the globe, but even in the wider and gloomier historical picture that meddles in all nations, darker ages than our own at the hands of more brutal regimes, rulers and ideologies that supposedly have attained already the limits of where barbarism can go.

As reports of crimes and tragedies shadow each day those of the day before by being more gruesome, at the same time as all indicates that the conflict will endure, populations worldwide manifest increasingly their empathy, and almost systematically their support as well, for the Palestinian side, whose people are each day more a victim, each victim more a martyr.

In Spain, there is a fairly strong and generalized support for Palestinians, even from the medias and some public figures, in stark contrast for instance with France where some manifestations of this type are even forbidden. In Madrid, one passed by the Plaza Mayor. It included some accusations and insinuations, or associations if you wish, that many would find offensive, as can be expected in such types of protests where caricatures and exaggerations are part of the expression, but overall it was a peaceful, respectable and empathic gathering mourning the victims and the innocents, with such symbolic acts as the enumeration of the the names of Gazan children who perished.
