Frédéric Dard

Frédéric Dard 29 June (1921)6 June (2000), San-Antonio is a French writer best known for his half-crime-fiction, half-humorist stories of the eponymous police inspector. The charm of the stories reside in the rich and inventive lexicographic universe created by the author (who made up over ten thousands new words!)

Taleb says that «The 2 authors who influenced me stylistically the most are Proust and Frederic Dard.» [1] and places Dard at the top of his list for favourite prose [2]. He also describes the Intellectual Yet Idiot as someone who «has never read Frederic Dard».
