We use the [[MediaWiki_templates#arXiv arXiv template]] <nowiki>{{arXiv|2402.14010}}</nowiki> {{arXiv|2402.14010}}. I would like to eventually have an [[arXiv2bib]] just as we have a great [[doi2bib]], but this is still at a preliminary stage.

arXiv

The arXiv (archive, Αρχείο) is one of the institutions of the Internet. As most of the best things from there, it comes from its early days. This is no less than a repository of preprints, i.e., scientific papers before they are published somewhere. Its two great features is that:

  1. it is fast (the results are published the next day),
  2. it is free (of access, it even provides the sources of the manuscript).

According to the Wikipedia, the arXiv was made possible by Donald Knuth's low-bandwidth TeX file format.

We use the arXiv template {{arXiv|2402.14010}} arXiv:2402.14010.

I also have a neat arXiv2bib which does for preprints what doi2bib does for published papers with a doi.
