the Anno Fabri tag naming the post, e.g. 006Nj, written into the stamp by the composer, which knows the post's id because it is the thing that gave it one.

What the parameter decides is the anchor: with a tag the anchor is #Y-006Nj, with none it is spelled out of the date and the time as #Y-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS, which is what every post before 18 August (2026) wears and must go on wearing—an anchor that changes is a permalink that dies.

The tooltip does not depend on it. Given no tag, Module:AF works one out from the date and the time themselves, so an entry named the old way still shows the name it would carry today. Only a moment outside the era—before 18 August 2026, or after 29 August 2055—has no name at all, and there the sentence simply ends with its full stop. The whole line is built in the module rather than here because {{#if:}} trims its arguments: a branch beginning with the space before the em dash loses it, and neither nor   survives the trip into a <wz> attribute.
