The nice thing of a conference in the top University of China is that you can find next door talks that are actually even more related to you than those in the conference room. Hey, I was the blue Referee on this one. I'll come back to the surprising findings of Prof. Z. Yuan.

To my surprise, there's a wine in Armenia (one of the oldest wine-making nation) called "Karas". Difficult not to think what a duprass would make of this in a restaurant at the foot of mount Ararat. I spent the evening with some people of my Karass, trying to avoid this thought.

Echmiadzin cathedral, or the story of Hripsime, who made a king so madly in love that he could never recover from the wrong he did in pursuing the impossible. Gregory had him convert Armenia. Christ marked this spot with a golden hammer where love failed but christianity started.

so the Christian church, basically all of religion, started with a petulant guy infatuated with an Italian girl who snubbed him. It's a beautiful story. I didn't know it... now it seems to me it couldn't have been any other way.

Wikipedia: The phrase "one hand clapping", if translated literally into Malay, means "Bertepuk sebelah tangan", which usually means unrequited love when used in context of a relationship or romantic feelings. The English saying "It takes two to tango" has a similar connotation.

The fascination is not for the music or performance. It is that the clarinetist is the typical INTJ woman—out of reach, restrained emotions, boyish—while the singer is the typical ESFP: warm, outgoing, accessible. The contrast is aching, with a rare glimpse in an INTJ's intimacy.
