David Deutsch

David Deutsch is a physicist, broadly recognized as the father of quantum computation. Specifically, he formulated the Church-Turing principle in physical terms and proposed the concept of a quantum computer based on quantum parallelism. He is a fascinating modern thinker who wrote must-read books (such as The Beginning of Infinity). He is also an outspoken zionist.
