Wellington used to be an independent village, named after Weola, a Saxon settler, but it is now engulfed by Telford.
It sits at the foot of the Wrekin, one of the famous Shropshire hills. One can also find there Sunnycroft, a preserved poor man's villa.
We passed through Wellington to hike the Wrekin on 1 October (2017).
We stopped by to visit Sunnycroft at the beginning of the covid pandemic.
