Abstract: Since the dawn of man, humans have constructed more and more sophisticated tools and machines from stone tools to computers but in the modern age, our advance in technology has become exponential. Now as we increase our understanding and mastery of nature, we have turned to the mysterious realm of quantum physics to satisfy our hunger for better technology. And now a new technological achievement has occurred giving us “quantum supremacy”, allowing us to create computers orders of magnitudes more powerful than anything that has ever come before. In this lecture, I will present an overview of quantum computers and recent advances in the field.
