  • What? From Undergraduate in Mathematics to a PhD in Physics
  • Who? Sana Khalid (Wolverhampton's 1st Physics PhD student).
  • Where? Wulfruna building (city campus), MC437 (TBC).

  • Why? Sana will describe her recent experience as a Wolverhampton alumna and introduce her PhD research.
  • How? The talk is part of the Welcome week for students starting at the University.

A brief talk about the experience of being a Maths undergraduate to starting a PhD in Physics. The talk will discuss any challenges that were faced and how they have been overcome. The steps taken to make this transition will also be spoken about, of which include the completion of a Masters dissertation on Quantum Mechanics which involved exploring different applications of the Schrödinger equation. A brief insight will also be provided into the research to be completed on fluids of light and matter as a platform to explore exotic Physics.
