The SI unit of energy is the Joules.
In civil use, one also refer to:
A typical electrical radiator consumes 2kW (so 2kWh of energy if operated for one hour). Our Panadero Chimney provides nominally 7kW.
Typical use are, e.g., 150 kWh/year for a washing machine. Spain's average household consumption is around 3500 kWh/year.
A MG24 Electric car would require 18.5kWh/day for generous (100km) dailly distance. A full charge of its 51 kWh battery would take 6h40 with at least 280km autonomy at full 8kW power. It would require about 5h for the 100km daily refill using about 3.7kWh from the PV. This allows a round-trip to Madrid (80km), Segovia (160km), Toledo (220km) and Avila (240km) from Soto. Salamanca (200 km) & Valladolid (210 km) can be reached in one go, while Zaragoza (280 km) is the limit.
The price of energy in Spain as of 19 March (2025) is 0,120984€/kWh.
There is a MOVES III Plan for electric cars, status pending in April.
