Donald Trump is an uncanny political figure, and the illustration of what happens when an outsider gets access to power: he performs much better than those tailored for the job, demonstrating that something dodgy is going on in the conduct of democracies.
Trump is farcical on many accounts, but endowed with the responsibility of a nation, he proved to be quite up to the task. This is in stark contrast with his contemporaries in the same role: although charismatic or tailored for the job in all aspects of looks and pretence, they abused the position and used it for criminal ends (see for instance Obama's greatest achievement). To me, this shows that democracies are locked up from inside, and that one can get some benefits from them only when an anomaly squeezes through.
I always wondered whether Trump had a historical stature, or merely a political one. He may hold the key to the immediate future of the Occidental world.
Among exceptional achievements from Trump as 45th POTUS, one can marvel at the otherwise insignificant steps of two men crossing a small and symbolic line of concrete, but which means diplomacy, dialogue and the will to accept and welcome the other as opposed to threaten and fight him [1]. Actually not obvious in times of world wars. Even impossible for the predecessors and successors of Trump, whose job is to follow up an agenda with conflict and aggressions stamped all over the place. His comeback and reelection as 47th president of the United States demonstrates a unique resilience and efficiency at getting things done.
Trump as the 47th POTUS already did fantastic things in the very first days of his appointment: withdrawing from the WHO and WTO—which is good because it goes against the imperialistic and globalist US agenda; besides, WHO is largely to blame, if not directly responsible, in the covid crisis—and releasing all files related to JFK's assassination (along with RFK and MLK). Importantly, although the details are still fuzzy, he appears to have made much progress on the war in Ukraine and the situation in Gaza (obtaining a ceasefire in the latter case, although that far from resolves the situation). If he carries on like that, he might make the World a better one.
