Пе́тя и волк (Pierre et le loup)

Pierre et le loup (Peter and the Wolf) is a favourite classical music composition, from Prokofiev, suitable to introduce children to classical music, and thus one of the early pieces we presented to Julia (who is now quite familiar with it).

Performances

This is one of the most performed piece, which also makes it an early exercise into variations.

• The best performance we know is the one from Gordon, Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet and Corentin Leconte.
• There is a version from Brel, which is the one displayed above (see also here).
• Another great rendition is the one with Pierre Ustinov.
