Ana Amato, who lived since she was 2 in the UK, did all her studies in the UK, is married to a British person with whom she had two children (also Britsh) was denied residency (her testimonial).

Richard Bertinet, a famous local baker and chef, who wrote books, lived over 30 years in the UK, has a British wife and three children, and got pre-settled status only. Apparently he got what he asked for (he received a congratulations letter) as the home office said he applied for pre-settled, which Bertinet denies (his British wife, a lawyer, made the application); still it seems unlikely the home office would forge or corrupt applications, and the case was readily corrected, so it seems to be a glitch, but one that shows that the procedure is not simple and that mistakes can be stressful. The baker, who still has a strong French accent, thanked everybody with a "Merci and happy weekend!" (his testimonial)

Damian Wawrzyniak , another chef who cooked for the royal family and was head chef at the London Olympics, lived in the UK for 15 year and employs several people in his restaurant, was also given only pre-settled status, until his situation was later regulated following the massive media impact.
